The mission of the Institute for Systematic Botany is to promote basic research in plant systematics and to coordinate research, education, and service programs in plant systematics. The ISB staff maintain the website for the Flora of the Clarendon Parish Region, a comprehensive source of information on distribution and nomenclature for the native and naturalized vascular plants in the Clarendon Parish of Jamaica. This website provides information to public agencies, private companies, non-profit organizations, schools, and individuals for environmental decision making and education.
As a product of a not-for profit institute within the University of South Florida, the Flora of the Clarendon Parish Region website is funded through contracts with a variety of agencies. We are therefore subject to inevitable fluctuations of interest and economics by these agencies who cannot guarantee our continued maintenance. You can help, however, because the Institute for Systematic Botany is eligible to receive donations via the USF Foundation. Your valued contribution will help fund the mission of the ISB and the continuation of the Flora of the Clarendon Parish Region website. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation, please contact Alan F. Franck, USF Herbarium curator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
or send a check made payable to the USF Foundation and mail it to:
